2023 Southeast Science and Technology Forum was Successfully Held in Fuqing

December 14-16, the 2023 Southeast Science and Technology Forum on Future Food Science and Technology Boosting the High-quality Development of Marine Economy and the 2023 Annual Academic Meeting of Institute of Food Science and Technology of Fujian Province was grandly held in Fuqing, Fujian. The forum was sponsored by Fujian Association for Science and Technology, Chinese Institute of Food Science and Technology, Fuzhou Municipal People's Government, organized by the Institute of Food Science and Technology of Fujian Province, Fujian Polytechnic Normal University, Fuzhou University Food Nutrition and Health Research Center, Fuzhou University Food Science and Technology Research Institute, Management Committee of Yuanhong Functional Zone of Fuzhou New District, Fujian Province-Indonesia Joint R&D Center for Marine Foods, Fuqing City Science, Technology Association of the Communist Party of China, Office of Talent Work of the CPC Fuqing Municipal Committee, and Fuqing Science and Technology Association, and co-organized by Fujian Food Industry Association, Jiangnan University, Minjiang University, Fuzhou Association for Science and Technology, Fuzhou Branch of Fujian Association of Women Science and Technology Workers, and Fuqing City Food Industry Association.

Zhu Pengli, vice chairman of Fujian Provincial Association for Science and Technology, Shao Wei, executive vice president of the Chinese Institute of Food Science and Technology, Lin Zhiliang, deputy mayor of Fuzhou Municipal People's Government, and Wu Keshou, president of FPNU, were present at the opening ceremony and delivered speeches.

Prof. Leiwen Xiang, Director of the R&D Center, was invited to attend the meeting and chaired the Youth Forum

Associate Prof. Yuan Deshi of the R&D Center was invited to attend the meeting and delivered a speech as a representative.

Three associate professors of the R&D Center, Lu Xiaodan, Gao Guanzhen and Wang Huiqin, were invited to attend the Youth Forum and made reports respectively on Anti-fatigue Effect of Striped Fish Glycoproteins on BALB/c Mice, A Study on Free Radical Generation from Oil-Water Emulsion Triggered by Catalase and Its Effect on Cellular Function, and Improvement of Sodium Gluconate Sulfate-induced Colitis and Regulation of Intestinal Microbiota in Mice Induced by Porcine Bone Soup Nanoparticles.


The forum included academician expert reports, youth forum, marine food science and technology volunteer service activities, food innovation contest in Fujian Province, food science popularization contest and many other college student competitions. Participants discussed the current situation of China's marine food industry and the development of marine food in Fujian Province, and sorted out and condensed the main scientific problems of the marine food industry for the future and formed important strategic thinking.
