On February 21, 2024, Professor Xiang Leiwen, Vice Dean of the School of Food and Bioengineering and Director of Fujian Province-Indonesia Marine Food Joint Research and Development Center, went to the University of Auckland to have an intense exchange with Professor Siew-Young Quek, Head of the Food Science and Engineering Program.

Prof. Siew-Young Quek introduced the brilliant history of the University of Auckland and the development of the food discipline, and shared the achievements and experiences made in discipline construction and engineering education. She pointed out that excellent faculty is crucial, and that serving regional development can best manifest the applied characteristics.
Prof. Xiang Leiwen said that, with its profound history and schooling heritage, the University of Auckland is the pioneer and leader of New Zealand's higher education, and is unique in the field of food science. At the same time, he introduced the basic situation and future development plan of the School of Food and Bioengineering, and carried out in-depth communication and exchanges in the areas of faculty training, introduction of talents, students' advancement to higher education, scientific research cooperation, etc. He also invited Prof. Siew-Young Quek to come to FPNU to give timely guidance with a view to cooperate in the future.
