The 21st IUFoST World Congress, organized by the International Union of Food Science and Technology (IUFoST), was held at the Marina Bay Sands Exhibition Center in Singapore from October 31 to November 3, 2022. The theme of this year's congress was "Future of Food: Innovation, Sustainability and Health". More than 1,500 scientific and business representatives from more than 70 countries around the world attended the conference. The conference featured nearly 100 keynote and special presentations covering hot topics such as food safety, food policy and regulation, food processing innovation, food industry 4.0, digital food processing, innovative food products, market and consumer research.
In recognition of the outstanding contributions of IUFoST Executive Committee members to the promotion of world food science and technology exchanges, the organizers presented the IUFoST Distinguished Service Award at the conference. Professor Rao Pingfan, Director of the Academic Committee of R&D Center and Professor of Zhejiang University of Technology and Industry, was awarded this prize.
In addition, IUFoST held a session of the Executive Committee during the conference, and Prof. Rao was re-elected as the new Executive Committee Member.
