On September 15-17, Prof. Xiang Leiwen, Vice Dean of School of Food and Bioengineering, Director of Fujian-Indonesia Joint R&D Center for Marine Food, and Prof. Chen Wentao, Director of Institute of Food and Bioengineering, were invited to attend the 2022 Jiangxi Think Tank Summit and the special matchmaking activities of national institutes for industrial technology and high-end talents in Fuzhou, Jiangxi. During the event, Prof. Xiang and Chen took participation in the signing of "Open Competition" Project and reached a cooperation agreement with Zhang Wuyong, the responsible person of Jiangxi Zhenhao Food Co., Ltd.
At the signing ceremony, Prof. Xiang introduced the development of the school and the R&D Center, and said that the signing is a concrete action to implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instruction on the orderly and powerful promotion of the innovation and research "Open Competition" mechanism, and is a vivid practice to deeply perform the strategic cooperation between universities and enterprises. He suggested that the school will give full play to its disciplinary advantages, coordinate the talents, disciplines, platforms, scientific research and other advantageous resources of the university. Grounding on its reciprocal relationship with enterprises, the school will also focus on key technical problems of enterprises, advance the co-sharing of advantageous resources, and jointly build an innovation system integrating "production, learning, research and application" with enterprises to carry out the agreement and cooperation projects, pursue high-level cooperation, and achieve high-quality development.
After the signing ceremony, Prof. Xiang and the delegation also visited the production workshops of Jiangxi Zhenhao Food Co., Ltd., Le’an County Dengxianqiao Food Development Co., Ltd., and Lichuan County Miaoyong Biotechnology Co., Ltd. They reached an in-depth understanding of the technology research and development, production, and operation of these enterprises, and conducted intensive exchange and discussion with relevant heads on the production-learning-research project between universities and enterprises.
