The Research Institute of Food and Fermentation Industries of Fujian Polytechnic Normal University (FPNU) was founded in May 2012. It is headed by Professor Chen Wentao, a senior engineer from the School of Food and Bioengineering of FPNU, and is mainly composed of relevant teachers from the school. Centering on the providing of technical support for enterprises and the cultivation of outstanding engineers for food industry, the institute has built a university-enterprise cooperation platform. Up to now, the platform has managed to meet the technical demands of Putian Hanxing Food Co., Ltd., and helped tackle problems that arise in their production. It is now in an exploration of a cooperation model with the Western Fujian Food Research Institute of Longyan University and Fujian Hongxin Food Co., Ltd. in Longyan city.
