General Secretary Xi has repeatedly emphasized that "Chinese people’s rice bowl must be firmly held in our own hands at all times" and suggested that "we should vigorously carry forward the excellent Chinese tradition of diligence and frugality, intensively advocate the idea that thrift is glorious and waste is shameful, and endeavor to make the exercise of strict economy and the combat of extravagance and waste common practice in the whole society".

Fujian Provincial Food Safety Publicity and Education Base of Fujian Polytechnic Normal University actively responds to the call of General Secretary. With the backing of Fuzhou Cereal Food Industry Technology Innovation Center, the base that grounds on reality gives full play to its advantages, strenuously carries out the overall publicity of food safety, and spares its effort in steering food consumption towards health science.

Specifically, the base has founded a special column for food safety propaganda. Combined with festivals and events such as World Food Day, the National Save Food Awareness Week, Food Tech Week, Food Safety Week, it has integrated and utilized of all kinds of science popularization resources to acquaint the public with China’s laws, regulations, and quality standards of cereal and oil foods, advocate scientific and healthy consumption concept, provide rational consumption guidance for consumers, and optimize the structure of food consumption. Besides, availing itself of the experimental platform of Fuzhou Cereal Food Industry Technology Innovation Center, the base has carried out on-site publicity campaigns in various forms such as manual production, expert lectures, theme group day, and enterprise visiting. Through publicity campaigns, the base aims to imbue the public with the concept of food safety, popularize food saving education, and disseminate the necessity of food saving, thereby improving consumers' awareness of food saving.

Meanwhile, the base will be open to the public on weekends and holidays. Teachers and student volunteers will publicize food safety to the public through briefings, We Chat public account and TikTok.
